Introduction to Ammonia | PSM, RMP,& RAGAGEP Combo
This 5-day course combines "Ammonia Refrigeration" and "PSM, RMP, RAGAGEP." It's essential for entry-level industrial refrigeration operators, safety professionals, and PSM/RMP personnel. For the start of the week, students learn refrigeration fundamentals and ammonia safety. In the latter half of the week, students go in depth on the PSM, RMP, and RAGAGEP codes/standards that regulate the ammonia refrigeration industry, as well as strategies to meet these requirements at their facilities. Course includes quizzes, on-site time in our ammonia/CO2 refrigeration plant, and a final test. Certificate awarded upon passing.

Operating Procedures (SOP)/HAZWOPER 24 & 8
This 5-day course combines the content of the Operating Procedures (SOP) and HAZWOPER 24 courses to provide students comprehensive training on how to follow facility SOP’s and how to respond in the event of an emergency. The first half of this class reviews how ammonia systems work, with a focus on reading and following P&ID’s and SOP’s. The second half of this course focuses on OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard applied to ammonia refrigeration systems. The week culminates with students utilizing their skills in hands-on drills simulating a response to an ammonia release. Tests are given, and a certificate is given upon passing the class.

In this 24 HR course, students learn the requirements for responding to hazardous chemical releases per OSHA's definition of hazardous materials technicians. Materials Outline Operator II
This third-level course prepares attendees to comprehensively understand, analyze, and troubleshoot industrial refrigeration systems. Each student receives RETA's Industrial Refrigeration 2 book. The 4-1/2 days of training covers CIRO exam topics and will prepare students to take on the problems associated with maintaining an efficient industrial refrigeration system. Students will take an exam and receive a certificate upon passing. Optional RETA CIRO exam available for an additional fee.
Prerequisite: Operator I or RETA's CARO certification. RETA Basic Electricity Book 1, 2, and Industrial Refrigeration Book 4 are included on the CIRO exam but are not provided or covered as part of this class.

Materials Outline Industrial Refrigeration Energy Specialist
This is the newest technician level class focused on energy efficiency that utilizes the Industrial Refrigeration Best Practice Guide and RETA's Industrial Refrigeration 1 & 2 books. The course builds upon refrigeration knowledge from Industrial Refrigeration Operator 1 & Operator 2 to focus on operating refrigeration systems in the most energy efficient manner including equipment and designs that use less energy. Selected sections of RETA’s Basic Electricity I & II and Industrial Refrigeration 4 books will be reviewed and additional topics from IRC Energy Efficiency Guideline will be discussed. Students will be administered an exam before the completion of the course and, with participation during class, will be awarded a certificate upon passing. This is a 4-1/2 day industrial refrigeration training course that covers topics that may be present on RETA's Certified Refrigeration Energy Specialist (CRES) exam. If desired, for an additional fee the student may sit for the RETA CRES examination which is offered at our testing facility after the course is complete.
